Laia Foundation reached an agreement with the concerned Government officials to work together to eradicate child malnutrition, joining forces with the agency's Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS, Government of India and Unicef). In the area of action where Vedanthangal is located, Laia Foundation will contribute by conducting medical camps and training sessions (Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood Illnesses) for anganwadi workers, pregnant women and teenage girls. Joint projects will begin next month and will extend at least until late 2011. Badalona Serveis Assistencials provides funds for the project.
