During 2012 and 2013, Laia Foundation has continued the project Early Childhood and Family Health Care through the support of a crowd funding initiative from the Catalan hospital Badalona Serveis Assistencials. 248 infants and their mothers were benefited by this project.

During these two years, the percentage of children who did not suffer from malnutrition stood at 51%, up from 46% two years ago. Cases of severe malnutrition (grades 3 and 4) were significantly reduced, from 6% to 1% and “grade 4� malnutrition has been eradicated.

We are pleased with the results that have been achieved, as severe malnutrition has been almost eradicated, but we must continue working in order to reduce cases of mild malnutrition that still show high percentages.
